Church Pastors and Staff
Wade Arp
Senior PastorI was raised in the Carolinas the early part of my life. About the time I turned 10 year old, our family moved to Kentucky and have been here ever since. Graduated from Russell Independent High School, Centre College, and Asbury Theological Seminary. Serving NUMC since Summer 2014.
I am married with two children. Teri and I were married in 1995. And we have two grade school kids, Alexis and Aidan. Currently live in Wilmore, right behind Asbury University.
When did you become a Christian?
I became a Christian when I was 13 years old. From the time I was very young I always believed there was a God. But it wasn’t until after attending summer camp Aldersgate Camp that I realized there was a different between “knowing about God” and actually “knowing God” in a personal way. And December 21stm 1983 is when that realization became complete, and overpowering, and I gave my life to following and serving Jesus Christ.
Favorite thing about serving in ministry?
In ministry, I love seeing people come to Jesus for the first time. I love people growing in their discipleship. I love strengthening existing ministry ties and starting new ones!
Do you have a life verse/favorite scripture passage?
I have many favorite bible passages, but one that I return to again and again is Psalm 46:10: “Be still and know I am God…”
Favorite ice cream flavor
Anything chocolate!

Matt Deitrich
Director of Youth MinistriesI’m Matt Deitrich. I was born and raised in the faraway land of Lexington, KY. I’m a graduate of Western Kentucky University and Asbury Theological Seminary. I love UK basketball (probably a little too much), Penn State and Dallas Cowboys football, and Pittsburgh Pirates baseball. I have a 2 year old son named Carter, a dog named Moose, and a cat named Ella.
When did you become a Christian?
I said some form of sinner’s prayer when I was 6, and I grew up in the church. I practically lived there as a teenager. But I didn’t really start following Jesus until my mid-20’s.

Hanging out with my students and watching them grow in their love for Christ over the time I get to spend with them

A good friend of mine named Teddy, who has always pushed me to follow Christ more closely
